Daily Breakfast Hours

 7:45 am - 8:15 am     

Students who are eating breakfast at school should not arrive before 7:45 a.m.

Students who are NOT eating breakfast  at school should NOT arrive before 8:00 a.m.

There is no supervision before the above times.

Do not drop your child off and leave.

Attendance

Please make every effort to get your child to school by 8:15 am each day, and to make any appointments before or after school. Research shows that great attendance is one of the key factors of academic achievement.

The district goal is 96%. The top five classes at Northwood will each receive an attendance banner and a popcorn party.

Please make sure to notify the office when your child is absent.

*If your child is late for school, they must report to the office for a late-slip. Students are not permitted into the classroom without a late slip if late.

Office Phone:

The school phone is to be used for business purposes only.  Please try to make arrangements with your child prior to school. The phone is only available to students only with written permission from the teacher.

 

Cellphones:

Students are not allowed to use cell phones at school. The school is not responsible for theft or loss of such items.

To register your child for school, you must live in the attendance area  and please bring the following items with you:

 

1) Birth Certificate

2) Utility, Rental, or Lease Agreement

3) Current Shot Records

Friday Newsletter & Home Communication

A parent newsletter from the principal will be sent home every Friday.  It includes a calendar of upcoming events. Please encourage your children to bring home all notices that they receive at school.  Extra newsletters are available in the office.

Super Attendance Spirit Week is coming up after Winter Break during the week of January 16-19th, 2018

1/16 Tuesday- Be Superhero- Dress up as your favorite hero.

1/17 Wednesday- Don't be a villain. Be ready to learn- Dress as your favorite villain.

1/18 Thursday- Fly to school on time each day- Wear a cape.

1/19 Friday- Sock it to absences- Wear Crazy Socks

 

*All students with perfect attendance (and no lates or tardies, in line by 8:15 a.m.) for the week of January 16-19th will receive a superhero bracelet.

 

*The top class for the week will receive a class incentive.

Red Ribbon Week 2017


Thank you to all of the students, parents, staff, and teachers who participated and helped out during Red Ribbon Week & at The Harvest Festival! 

 

 

Reclassified English Learners Luncheon 9-15-17

The lunches were provided by Doubletree Hotel and organized by Ms. Paule.

The students worked very hard to reach English proficiency. Hooray for them!

TRUSD District News

Our Winter Retreat will provide an opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive workshops along four pathways [First 5, Elementary, Middle School Years, and College-and-Career-Readiness] in order to support our student’s educational path. Participants will be able to choose from these various topics along these four pathways, and select the workshops that meet their interests during our breakout sessions.
